Job description:

  • Takes care of guest satisfaction and quality of service
  • The main assistant to our Executive Chef
  • Follow the directions of the executive chef and our standards
  • Design menus that enhance customers’ culinary experience while keeping up high quality
  • Ensure adequacy of supplies at all times
  • Create and test new menus
  • Provide feedback regarding the food quality of large bulk purchases
  • Ensure that all food preparation is in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Design standardized food presentation guidelines for each dish
  • Suggest new rules and procedures for optimizing the cooking process
  • Monitor inventory levels of commonly used items
  • Look for ways to reduce spoilage of infrequently used items
  • Hire, train, and mange staff regularly, especially new ones


Requirements:

  • Culinary Degree or equivalent experience
  • Three years of experience on the same or a similar position
  • Active knowledge of a foreign language in speech and writing (preferably English), the advantage of knowing the Croatian language
  • Desirable work experience in high category hotels
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Ability to track expenses and manage a budget
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills - team player
